A collection of past projects I was fortunate enough to have worked on
Zense
From March 2024 to September 2024 I was able to intern at Zense, working as an illustrator, Graphic- and Motion Designer. Next to the day to day client work, I was also able to help develop some internal ideas and products which have since been completed and published.
In this section I specifically want to point out one project from my time at Zense, which was probably my favourite amongst them all and which I feel very grateful, to have been trusted with.
I was tasked with the creation of a promotional Illustration which was meant to go on the Zense website highlighting their kids’ section. The illustration was supposed to convey the spirit of a child’s imagination, their sense of wonder and their desire for adventure. It was meant to be a warm, friendly and wondrous piece.
After an initial brainstorming session and several rounds of thumbnails, the team and I ultimately decided on a scene showing a young group of adventurers encountering a friendly giant along their way. The initial concept of the creature was based on a turtle carrying a city on its back, with the city being roughly inspired by Ghibli’s castle in the sky and other old city ruins which have become overgrown overtime.
As soon as the general composition was fixed and the creature designs were made, we started to narrow down possible color combinations. After that it was all about rendering, handing it back to the art director to get additional feedback and applying those changes until we arrived at the finished piece!
